Unix/Wintel Engg w/ Perl & Shell Scripting Exp

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This function is to provide application development and support for the WHG integration group. Responsibilities include design, development, and integration of applications to support the environment.

 

The position will take direction from the integration manager in the interpretation and translation of technical requirements from support and development teams into implementable solutions that adhere to goals.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

-    Responsible for working with the Web Support and Integration team to write scripts and automate routine tasks

 

-    Java and .NET web based application development

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

-     Over five years experience developing UNIX and Wintel web based applications.

 

-     Experience with scripting and development using Perl, ksh, Vbscript, WMI, ADSI, WSH, ksh, java, JDBC, perl, cgi, html, JavaScript, XML, web services

 

-     Understanding of support procedures for large-scale server environments

 

-     Planning and managing development projects, familiarity with SDLC

 

-     Manage migration and enhancements of new and existing websites

 

-     Understanding of middleware products iPlanet/SunOne, IIS, JRun, Weblogic, Websphere and Siteminder.

 

-     Extensive knowledge of UNIX/W2K/Linux in enterprise environment

 

-     Experience developing and supporting applications on the following databases, (Sybase, Oracle, SQL Server) and ANSI SQL

 

NON-TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

   - Strong customer and quality-focus is a must.

 

   - Sound problem resolution, judgment, and decision-making skills required.

 

-    Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and project management skills

 

-    Excellent communication skills both written and oral.

 

-    Self starter and ability to work in a team environment

 

-    Hard working and self motivated. Able to work effectively under pressure
