Job description
The core responsibilities of the Monitoring Integration Architect are design, installation and integration of multiple monitoring applications and tools in support of the Corporate Technology (CT) Business Impact Monitoring program.
Role-specific responsibilities and timelines
• CA Wily Introscope
o Verify installation and configuration of server hardware/networking
o Installation Introscope Enterprise Server and modules
o Installation of EM, workstations and WebView servers
o Deploy Introscope agents and recycle application JVMs
o Establish performance data to be monitored, create and configure customer-defined dashboards and alerts
o Document installation and configuration process
• Tivoli Business Service Manager
o Install and configure TBSM instance
o Configure TBSM to accept Netcool alarms
o Align incoming events, collect and correlate metrics and state/status
o Develop custom scorecard, charting and reports
o Document installation and configuration process
• Integrien Alive
o Install and configure Alive and adapters for performance metric data collection
o Validate data collection
o Configure and verify key applications, usage and dashboards
o Test and validate outbound data feeds
o Document installation and configuration process
• BMC Atrium
o Assist in installation and configuration of Atrium CMDB
o Assist in analysis, definition and integration of discovery source into CMDB
o Document installation and configuration process
o Assist in definition and configuration of the export of the CMDB service model
o Testing and validation of service model export
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in technical (IT, engineering) discipline, or equivalent work/training
• Demonstrated experience with the following monitoring tools:
o BMC Atrium
o CA Wily Introscope/Compuware Vantage
o Integrien Alive
o HP SIM
o IBM Director
o Tivoli Business Service Manager (TBSM)
o Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
o Oracle Grid Control
• Development (Java/C#) and database (SQL) experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Ability to be flexible, follow tight deadlines, organize and prioritize work
• Work under minimum direction and use independent judgment in decision-making
