Title                :           Senior UNIX Systems Administrator

Location           :           New York City, NY (Local preferred)

Duration           :           6 Months Extendable

Rate                 :           Open

Note                 :           Travel is required to offshore [Bangalore, INDIA]; 2 weeks paid travel is mandatory.

Key areas of Responsibility:        

Sun Solaris 10

Shell Scripting

Printer Queue Management

Software and Patch Management

Storage and performance Management

Experience in Backup and restore through Symantec Net Backup and EMC data

domain

 

Experience in Oracle

Sound knowledge on LDAP

Experience in RAID 0,1,5,6, 0+1 etc and managing disks, disk volumes

Clustering & Replication              

SAN/NAS

Knowledge on SNMP tools such as solar-winds, Team quest to monitor services.

Experience in VM ware

L1 support and Networking issues

Should be able to implement, configure as per the defined IT strategies

Good documentation skills (ITIL Preferred)

Incident Management System

 Escalating Issues to IT/IS manager

 Flexible in working hours as implementer is a ODC supporting different

geographies

 General:

 Excellent Communication Skills

 Ability to work well within a team

 High level of initiative and self motivation

 Meticulous with process, documentation and knows how to leverage limited

resources to achieve objectives.

 Good problem solving skills
