Urgent Required : DB2 DBA on AIX

Strong DB2 DBA on AIX platform is required. Some Oracle DBA exp is a definite plus.

 

Our client is looking for a DB2/DBA for a 6 month contract. The DBA will be responsible for Analysis, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's DB2 databases. They will handle and lead various small to medium- scale or moderately complex data/database management activities including one or more of the following: designing moderately complex logical and/or physical databases; integration, and some capacity planning efforts; version upgrades, fully document procedures and standards. The DBA provides mentoring, guidance, and general oversight to development team in regards to DB2 sys admin perspective.

Additional responsibilities will involve data architecture in areas of database and schema design. The DBA will be developing logical and physical data models. Responsibilities will also include data security, audit and compliance.

Qualifications:
* 5+ years DB2 experience on z/OS platform with 3 years minimum as a DB2 DBA.
* 3+ years experience in DB2 on the z/OS platform as DBA.
* Ability to effectively communicate utilizing verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to perform DB2 system administration functions
* Ability to perform data modeling
* Basic Knowledge of CICS transaction server.
* Basic Knowledge of IBM Websphere/MQ.
* Demonstrated problem solving with analytical skills.
* Direct experience with Version Upgrades and Patching.
* Experience with Oracle Unix a PLUS.
* 4 year college degree

Additional skills:
* z/OS JCL skills
* REXX programming skills
* Oracle skills (Must)
* UNIX skills preferably AIX (MUST)

Soft skills:
* Must have EXCELLENT communication skills.
