Client in Social Networking Technologies Space is seeking a JavaScript rock star to help build our next generation white label social networking platform out of NYC based office.
You should have what it takes to make a difference in everything from design to implementation and support. We're looking for articulate technologists, with a deep understanding of highly scalable web technologies and experience in building web platforms. You*ll understand the big picture, the applications, the platforms they work on, enjoy working with people across the organization, and excel at communications. If we can dream it, you should be able to build it. It's a fast-paced, but rewarding opportunity that offers exposure to the some of the most innovative social networking platforms in the world today - perfect for a developer seeking new challenges.
Requirements:
Here's the Absolute Must Haves we need from you (if you don't have them, please don't say you do):
* 5 years professional experience building web applications
* Expert knowledge of standard web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
* Extremely detail oriented. Strives for pixel perfect implementation in all browsers
* Passion for performance, clean code, security, benchmarking
* Knowledge and\or experience with templating languages
* Able to manipulate entire DOM and create page sections entirely in JavaScript
* Must know cross-browser hacks
* Deep understanding of browser and frontend security
* Highly experienced with jQuery
* A high level of written and verbal English communication skills
* Excellent analytical problem solving skills
* A portfolio (list of URLs and what you did on those sites will do)
* A great sense of humor
Responsibilities:
* Developing client side code, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
* Working closely with backend team and assisting with integration
* Assisting in architecting frontend JavaScript framework
* Debugging & resolving platform issues
Bonus:
* Knowledge of HTML5
* Mobile platform development, including iPhone and Android apps a plus
* Knowledge and\or experience with Object Oriented programming languages
* Past experience at a social networking product
* Experience with unit testing
